LLanishen Family Home

RESIDENTIAL・LLANISHEN

Di Oro Interiors completed a transformative renovation of the Llanishen Family Home, which is now part of our design portfolio. Situated in one of Cardiff’s most sought-after neighbourhoods, the brief focused on reimagining the entryway, living, and dining areas to create a cohesive, light-filled environment that balances refinement with family-friendly comfort. Retaining the existing floors and kitchen, our visualisation aimed to honour the home’s character while introducing a rich, layered aesthetic. The interior design services focused on the client’s preference for a cream and black palette which was thoughtfully complemented by the vivid tones of a cherished Sri Lankan painting. This ensured a harmonious blend of personal significance and design elegance.

Di Oro Interiors’ design process established a tonal foundation of soft greys and warm whites for key upholstered elements and wall finishes. To introduce visual contrast in the Llanishen Family Home, black accents were incorporated in the cabinetry, the accessories, and the dining set. Mid-century influences were seamlessly integrated with sculptural lighting to evoke a sense of relaxed elegance. To bridge the contrast of cream and black tones, we introduced oak batons, brass lighting, and rust-coloured textiles, elements that resonate with the painting’s palette. This renovation stands as a testament to how thoughtful detailing, materiality, and scale can coalesce to create a timeless, curated family home.

“The living room is the heart of a home in more ways than one. It is often the social hub for
families, but also a space that often determines the palette for all the rooms adjacent to it.”
